Movie Thor Ragnarök

The Plot; (There will be spoilers) Well the plot starts off with Thor captured talking to a skeleton, to talk to a not so charming bloke who's name is Surtur, who seems to like the heat, given that he is surrounded by fire. Thor escapes his chains and fights a fire dragon and the bi-frost opens beheading the dragon.
Then title card which is amazing and I dare you to disagree. Then Thor quickly learns the Heimdall has been fired for treason (Insert jokes below) and replaced by a bloke named Skurge. He then flies off to tell his father Odin, who he quickly deduces is actually Loki. Then they have to go to Earth to find King Odin.
Turns out the old people home that Loki had left him has been demolished. Then Loki gets kidnapped by Doctor Strange. Which leads Thor visiting and after explaining the situation Doctor Strange helps in a tripsy way. Loki is given back and they go to Norway.
After a good send off, of Odin their evil older sister, Hella appears and brakes Thor's hammer, (give yourself time to mourn) then Loki calls for Skurge to send them back but is followed by Hella. They try to fend her off but get pushed out of the bi-frost. Thor lands on a planet owned by an egotistical fellow named The Grand Master.
He gets captured by a Valkyrie this leads him to enter into a tournament, getting his hair cut and starting a revolution. While Loki tries to keep his cool when he sees the Hulk and Hella causes Hell.
They then get off that planet and saves Asgard and causes Ragnarök. They end with Thor wishing to build a new Asgard on Earth...Until they see a really big ship in the mid post credits scene...
Now for the characters (the new ones) ;
  1. Hella, the older sister of Thor and Loki, who looks more like a female Loki...(I'm beginning to wonder if it wasn't Thor that was adopted) She is the main antagonist and she is a good one, however the only thing that takes things away is the fact that the comedic nature of the film.
  2. Valkyrie, She is a drunken woman who has a tragic past that she tried to keep berried under a see of alcohol. I feel like she was the one that had the heroes' journey through the film. Which I loved, I also like her relationship that she had with the Hulk, which means when Banner comes to Earth, he'll be in hot water!
  3. The Grand Master, all I need to say about him is he's Jeff Goldblum!
  4. Skurge, He is a bold guy with tattoos on his head. He has a bit of an ego but over the course of the move he goes from Heimdall's replacement, to Hella's right hand man to a man who, becomes a hero. Plus, you have got to love the accent!
  5. Korg, He is a bloke made of rock with a high pitched voice with a British accent. His personality is positive, passive , but insensitive. He shows that he is slightly organised. Although I did like the fact that he's a good fighter, however he is more of a funny character to watch. He even dropped a hint that vampires existed in the MCU so maybe we could see Blade?
  6. Finally Surtur, He looks like a demon on fire, who is one dimensional.
I must admit that there was another character, however he didn't really have that much agency.
My thoughts, I loved this film, I loved Doctor Strange's cameo, I loved how cool Thor became, I loved what Cate Blanchett did with Hella, I love what they did with Banner and the Hulk, I love the send off of Odin and Mjolnir, I loved what they did with Valkyrie, I loved the roll that Loki had through out the film (yes I'm part of Loki's Army) and most of all, I loved those fight scenes!
So, all in all it was a brilliant movie. Next week will be the next instalment of the Weather Incarnets: Gathering, which will be Tornado, the week after that will be the penultimate instalment of my Why A Jelsa Movie Is A Better Idea Than You Think. So, God bless you my wonderful B.AC.C.M.M.L.aters!
